The purpose of MEDLIS Project Manager - Grade VII post is to co-ordinate the implementation of MedLIS to St. Luke’s Hospital and to provide a system administrator and management function after the roll out phase. MedLIS is the new national Laboratory Information System (LIS) to manage laboratory tests. It allows healthcare providers to electronically book tests and access test results. MedLIS is being introduced to improve quality of care and patient safety. The implementation project involves both the Laboratory and almost all units of the hospital that are involved in the direct care of patients i.e. it’s multi-faceted. A panel will be created from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration will be filled. The tenure of these posts will be indicated at “expression of interest” stage. Appointment as an employee of the Health Service Executive is governed by the Health Act 2004 and the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointment) Act 2004. Annual Leave The annual leave associated with the post is: 0-5 years post qualification nursing experience 24 days per year (pro rata). 5-10 years post qualification nursing experience 25 days per year (pro rata).
