The person appointed should be capable of working on own initiative and diagnosing and repairing faults as directed. The person shall perform various manual labour tasks requiring some specialised skills such as painting, excavator driving or light joinery work. The tasks require a certain amount of acquired skill, often dealing with specialised equipment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Carrying out general maintenance, including for example, building and site repairs, laying concrete, kerbing, fencing, painting and safety matting repairs. 2. Must be prepared to work in potentially unpleasant conditions/carry out potential unpleasant operations eg: graffiti removal and dead animal removal. 3. Use of communication systems (eg: mobile phones) particularly for emergency calls. 4. Completion of forms eg: time sheets, works request forms indicating materials used/required, times, work undertaken etc. 5. Must be willing to work overtime when available (including public or bank holidays). 6. Must be prepared to attend emergency calls outside of normal working hours, if available. 7.
