The Manager will be responsible for the identified children’s services in the region, including preschool services, nursing services, children's outreach services, residential respite services, day and evening respite, the community in-home support services and any future service developments. The successful candidate will have: Essential Criteria: · Have a relevant professional qualification in Nursing or a Health and Social Care profession and where appropriate, have statutory registration or professional registration/accreditation. And · Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. External Competition Principal Psychology Manager (Permanent – Full time) Purpose of the position: The Principal Psychology Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the Psychology Department in the National Rehabilitation Hospital. Develop the Department in line with the NRH strategic and operational plans ensuring an emphasis on interdisciplinary partnerships. The National Rehabilitation University Hospital is a national, specialist tertiary university hospital providing specialist rehabilitation services to adults and children who have an acquired neurological and or physical illness or injury. This permanent, full-time, Principal Psychology Manager post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychologist to (1) lead a dynamic psychology department in excellence in rehabilitation as part of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare disciplines(2) lead and manage innovative clinical psychology and neuropsychology practice as the Head of Psychology Department, (3) to provide the highest level of professionalism and support to internal and external stakeholders, and (4) to contribute to the delivery of the Hospital Strategic Plan and operations as a highly effective manager. Requirements: · A recognised university degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which in psychology was taken as a major subject with honours in that subject. · A recognised postgraduate professional psychological qualification in clinical or counselling psychology. Applicants who have completed their post-graduate training outside the Republic of Ireland must ensure that their qualification is validated by the Department of Health and Children. · Minimum of eight years postgraduate experience in clinical or counselling psychology. The eight years can include time spent in postgraduate professional training and no less than three years (Whole Time Equivalent) experience at senior or principal grade. · Possess the requisite knowledge, ability, and suitability for proper discharge of the duties of the post. · Relevant training and experience in psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic skills for patients with acquired neurological disability. · Experience in conducting research in health care and publication of same. · Experience of management, including service development, clinical audit, and evaluation, and managing resources. · A minimum of 3/ 5 years’ experience of line management of staff, leadership, and formal supervision of all grades of psychologists. It is essential for the candidate to have the following: · Experience of interdisciplinary teamwork and working in a hospital setting. · Experience in delivery of neuropsychology services in a rehabilitation setting. · To be registered as a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
