Inland Fisheries Ireland has an exciting opportunity available for a Fisheries Officer to join our team, which would be well suited to those who have an interest in protecting, managing and conserving Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources. The role of Fisheries Officer is responsible for front line implementation and enforcement of the provisions of the Fisheries Acts, Water Pollution Acts, Water Framework Directive & other relevant statutory provisions, to include the provision of comprehensive conservation, protection, improvement & development services, inland and at sea. The role of a Fisheries Officer has two main areas of responsibility; REMUNERATION The salary scale for the position is at the level of Fisheries Officer as applies in Inland Fisheries Ireland, it is a 14-point scale including 2 long service increments (LSI’s): Point 1 €29,053; Point 2 €30,623; Point 3 €31,530; Point 4 €32,764; Point 5 €33,736; Point 6 €34,748; Point 7 €35,489; Point 8 €36,530; Point 9 €37,398; Point 10 €38,091; Point 11 €39,126; Point 12 € 40,173; LSI 1 €41,688; LSI 2 €43,621 (IFI FO Grade PayScale as of 01/10/2023.) An unsocial hour’s allowance (UHA) of up to €7,279 per annum (pro-rata), will be payable at either 50% or 100% relative to the number of unsocial hours worked. Candidates should note that salary will not be subject to negotiation and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. New entrants to the public sector will start on Point 1 subject to Haddington Road Agreement and subsequent Government Agreements. TENURE This post is offered on a permanent contract basis. FORMATION OF A PANEL A panel may be created for up to six months to cover vacancies for roles with similar skill sets.

Accountant
Main purpose of the role: The main task for the Company Accountant will be to co-ordinate the entire accounting function of the various businesses outlined above. The ideal candidate will have/be: • Hold a professional accountancy qualification from one of the recognised bodies • Fully computer literate with experience in using recognised computerised accounting packages on a day to day basis • Ideally will have post qualification industry experience in the convenience retail and forecourt sector. Main duties: • Ensuring adequate procedures and systems are in place to maintain proper books and records and adequate internal accounting controls; • Preparing weekly flash reports • Preparing detailed, regular and timely management accounts • Co-ordinating the establishment of budgets within the organisation and monitoring same v actual • Managing cash flow requirements by way of preparing regular and rolling cash flow projections • Managing and directing site staff to support the accounting function • Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all necessary tax returns including VAT returns, PAYE/PRSI returns and Corporation Tax returns and any other statutory returns required by CSO or other authorities • Ensuring all company secretarial matters are up to date • Managing the payroll function for the organisation • Managing all capital expenditure • Costing of ad hoc projects • Liaising with insurance companies regarding the overall insurance arrangements of the company • Liaising with external auditors in relation to statutory accounts and other related matters • Liaising with Banks regarding all aspects of funding • Other related finance duties as required • Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all necessary tax returns including VAT returns, PAYE/PRSI returns and Corporation Tax returns and any other statutory returns required by CSO or other authorities • Ensuring all company secretarial matters are up to date. • Managing the payroll function for the organisation • Managing all capital expenditure • Costing of ad hoc project
