Provide facility security attendant duties as required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.           Duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying litter bins, polishing and dusting designated areas, staircases and fixtures and fittings, using where appropriate, the necessary equipment, (including working at heights) to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved and maintained throughout the facility. 2.           Empty waste (including food waste), shredder and recycling bins in offices and leave bins out for collection. 3.           Ensure the safe storage, application and retrieval of all cleaning materials / substances in accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety obligations. 4.           Log and report all accidents and or spillages and identify potential hazards ensuring appropriate remedial action is taken in line with standard operating and reporting procedures. 5.           Complete cleaning, flushing records and other documentation as required. 6.           Open, close and secure the administration building/s including setting and disarming of alarms, and controlling access, as required. 7.           Action evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency in accordance with procedures. 8.           Ensure operational areas are secure in accordance with specified procedures, including undertaking internal/external security checks, as required. 9.           Report general/minor maintenance defects to the Facilities Officer. 10.       Set up rooms for meetings, dismantle equipment and distribute supplies/deliveries to relevant departments within our administration buildings as required. 11.       Check and switch on/off control switches including heating, lighting etc. 12.       Provide cover at reception as required, including welcoming and signposting visitors/customers. 13.       Conduct all duties in a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of the Council and participate in Facilities Service training as required. 14.       Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation. 15.       Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures. 16.       Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality. 17.       Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time. Strokestown Adult Services provide a range of community based services including residential, respite, community outreach, day, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. We are looking for people who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support and are open to change. Location: Strokestown Adult Services (Strokestown, Tulsk, Elphin and Ballinagare Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Strokestown Adult services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service. The Social Care Worker role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Social Care Worker will assist and support people who use the service with development of their individual person centred plans and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, will support people who use the service to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices. The successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision at a local level, ensuring the service delivered is person-centred. Qualifications: All posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidates may be required to work to accommodate an integrated day service, with weekend work, some split duty hours, public holidays, evening/night duty and sleep-ins to meet service needs. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale as at 01/3/2025 apply: €39,951 x 11 increments - €55,049 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A long service increment €56,089 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39 hour working week. Applications are invited for the following:- PERSON IN CHARGE Ref: 19/2025 Social Care Manager 1 / Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) GRADE Permanent Full-Time (39 /37.5 hours per week) Location: Adults Residential Services, Cork City/suburbs The Purpose The post holder will ensure that each person supported is supported through a person centred approach ensuring their rights are respected at all times. Emphasis will be on forming a team approach involving the person supported, families, key workers, advocates and staff including day services, ensure a meaning quality of life for each person in their centre(s),. Working towards community integration and ensuring a quality service is provided to all who use the service are essential part of the role. The person/s appointed shall ensure that the vision is delivered through our core values of Person Centred Service. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, national Legislation including Health Act 2007 and H.I.Q.A. regulations. May take on the duties of Person in Charge for a designated centre.
