South Dublin County Council is one of four local authorities in the Dublin region. Deputy Superintendent, Furniture Division
The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a service organisation. The ethos is to be client focused, to ensure timely delivery of services and to provide value for money. The OPW's remit covers two main areas: Estate Portfolio Management (including Heritage Services) and Flood Risk Management. The Furniture Division is a unit within the OPW's Property Maintenance section. The main function of the Furniture Division is to implement programmes and projects and to provide fit-out to constructed accommodation and facility solutions for Government and State clients whether in new, existing or rented premises. The position of Deputy Superintendent in Furniture Division of Property Maintenance Services is concerned with the supply and maintenance of furniture and furnishings in Government Departments, offices and agencies. He/she will report to the Chief Technical Officer in Furniture Division and/or any person designated by the Chief Technical Officer.
Director National Cyber Security Centre
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) was established by Government with a broad remit across the cyber security of Government ICT and critical national infrastructure. The NCSC acts as a central contact point in the event of a government or nation-wide cyber security incident affecting the State. It also coordinates and supports the response to significant incidents. Reporting to the Secretary General, the Director is a key senior management position in the Department. S/he will lead the NCSC team, comprising highly skilled, specialist technical civilian staff. The NCSC currently has a staff complement of 25 which will grow incrementally to at least 45 staff over the next two years and at least 70 staff over the next five years. The Director will have responsibility for setting the strategic direction for the NCSC at a time of significant transformation and expansion and against the backdrop of the increased risk levels for the State in relation to cyber security. The successful candidate will have: • A proven record of accomplishment as a leader and senior manager in a large or complex organisation; • strong understanding of the current global cyber environment and its challenges for Ireland. • excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with an ability to build effective relationships and lead at a senior level with other Government Departments, key state agencies, commercial organisations and other stakeholders; • excellent communications skills with an ability to engage with media, parliamentary committees, etc, when required, as the public face of the NCSC • political awareness and sound judgment in dealing with both policy and operational issues. Ecologist Environmental Scientist
The Office of Public Works (OPW) is the lead agency in co-ordinating flood risk management policy and the flood relief capital programme in Ireland. Flood Risk Management Services is the Business Unit in the OPW tasked with discharging this responsibility. Reporting to the Engineer Grade II or an Ecologist/Environmental Scientist Grade II, the Ecologist/Environmental Scientist Grade III will be responsible for conducting ecological surveys, ecological monitoring and drafting environmental assessments for a range of flood risk management activities as well as inspecting on-site works, auditing of environmental systems and joint site visits with staff and environmental stakeholders.
