City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City. City of Dublin ETB is also responsible for the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). YES for Refugees and Migrants is an Education and Youth Service for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, in particular unaccompanied minors. We offer a range of education and youth work activities that complement formal education provision and non-formal youth work practice and aim to support young people to realise their full potential, to negotiate and navigate their environment and life in Ireland and to live independent and healthy lives. These include our Migrant Access Programme and Step Up education programmes for newly arrived young people, a Study Buddy Homework and Job Club, individual support work, outreach and various group programmes and activities. Successful candidates will be paid at point 01 of the salary scale unless they have previous relevant public sector service. Annual Leave: 22 working days per annum (pro rata). Normally leave may only be taken outside of term time. Hours of Work: 2 days per week. Normal working hours will be 14 hours per week. Regular evening, occasional weekend and overnight residential work may be required. Summary of Position: This post will primarily be to support the young people in our Ste Up and Job Club Programmes, alongside the existing multidisciplinary team. The role will require a commitment to equality, inclusion and intercultural good practice, collaboration and flexibility in order to work in a busy environment, putting the young people’s needs at that centre. Essential Requirements: • A qualification to a minimum Level 7 NQF in the field of Youth and / or Community Work, Social Care or Social Studies. • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with young people in a youth work or similar setting in a paid or voluntary capacity.
