Cardiac Physiologist, Staff Grade, University Hospital
Title of Post: Cardiac Physiologist, Staff Grade, Cork University Hospital Location of Post: Cork University Hospital (CUH) – HSE South West There are several permanent whole-time vacancies available in the Cardiology Department in Cork University Hospital. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for post of Cardiac Physiologist, Staff Grade, Cork University Hospital from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Details of Service: Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in the Country with in excess of 40 different medical and surgical specialties on the Campus. The hospital primarily treats patients from Cork and Kerry which have a combined population of more than 620,000. In addition to this, it is also a tertiary referral centre for Munster, serving a population of more than 1,173,000. CUH is designated as the Regional Specialist Centre for Cardiac Services with a broad range of skills and expertise resulting in high volumes of activity and access to appropriate diagnostic and treatment facilities. Best international standards provide evidence that better clinical outcomes are achieved when patients are treated by a multi-disciplinary specialist team. The Cardiology Department provides a comprehensive range of services at both inpatient and outpatient level, covering both Cork and Kerry. The Cardiology Department is composed of a Chief II Cardiac Physiologist, 3 Chief I Cardiac Physiologists and multiple Senior and Staff Grade Physiologists and E.C.G. Technicians. The Cardiology department team are dedicated to the highest standard of healthcare provision. We provide an effective learning environment while maintaining a high level of patient activity. Purpose of Post : Performance of non-invasive procedures as designated by the department head and to contribute to the department of Cardiology as a member of a busy and dynamic team. To work as a member of a team to actively pursue the training and development of the department and its members. Performance of all non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations and assistance with invasive cardiac investigations or other duties deemed appropriate to your position.
