The role of the Driver is to transport Service Owners to and from day services based in the centres or in the community, and to facilitate any other transport needs. The role of the Support Worker is to facilitate the Service Owner in all aspects of daily living, including: assisting with personal care needs, mobility, and supporting access and participation in activities of choice provided by day services, in the community, and online/virtually. The post holder will provide opportunities to help develop a range of options for the individual in areas of training, employment and greater inclusion in their local community. Slron/- / Medical Scientist, Senior
Established in 2010, St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) operates across three sites – St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at St. Luke’s Hospital (SLROC SLH), St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at St James’s Hospital (SLROC SJH) and St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at Beaumont Hospital (SLROC BH). The Pathology Laboratory in St. Luke’s Hospital is highly automated and computerised, providing a comprehensive analytical service to the Hospital. The service also undergoes continuous development in response to SLRON development strategy and user needs. The Blood Transfusion Department, has a key role in the therapeutic support of oncology patients during their treatment at St. Luke’s. The Pathology Laboratory comprises a small multi-disciplinary team of staff in the disciplines of: Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and provides a full on-call service 24/7, all year-round. Staff flexibility is important for the effective provision of a year-round laboratory service at SLRON. There is currently one permanent whole-time post available in the Blood Transfusion Department, Pathology Laboratory, St. Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at St. Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar (SLROC SLH). The Laboratory with its unique location within the serene and mature grounds of St. Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar, only a short distance from the city centre, offers a very attractive calm and pleasant work environment. There is ample free parking close to the lab building. The hours of operation of the Lab are 8-6pm Mon-Fri, but working times may be structured to the benefit of staff, once the overall needs of the service are met. The on-call service although 24/7, is an off-site service which is low pressure and therefore quite family-friendly. Executive Officer
The Role Executive Officers support the manager of the division they are assigned to in achieving the overall objectives of the MHC. Their primary role is to contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective service to the public and to colleagues in the Commission. The successful candidate will be required to engage and communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders including staff, officials from government departments and public bodies, private sector bodies, disability organisations and others. The duties of the Executive Officer are varied and can involve assignment to different parts of the organisation or different areas of work. The performance of the entire range of duties is not necessarily confined to any one individual within a division, as the work requires that employees in the role function in a flexible manner and work effectively together as a team to deliver required outcomes or outputs. As an Executive Officer, the holder of the post will be expected to actively contribute to and participate in the overall development of the MHC and to promote its policies and values at all times. Key Responsibilities Under the overall direction of the relevant line manager, the Executive Officer’s key duties and responsibilities include: Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the scale and will not be subject to negotiation and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. This rate will apply where the appointee is an existing civil or public servant appointed on or after 6 April 1995 or is newly recruited to the MHC and is required to make a personal pension contribution. Different terms and conditions may apply if immediately before appointment you are a current serving civil/public servant.
