Location: The location of this post will be confirmed following the appointment process and may be subject to review as part of the review of services MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Programme Manager (Waste Harmonisation) will provide strategic, professional and managerial leadership for the Council’s Waste Harmonisation Programme and related waste transformation projects. The postholder will lead a complex, multi‑year, borough‑wide programme designed to deliver consistent and modernised waste services, ensure compliance with DAERA policy, introduce new collection systems, infrastructure, fleet and digital tools, and embed long‑term behaviour change across communities. Delivery of a quality project(s) meeting needs of both Council and end users. Provide advice and guidance on regeneration related matters. Work in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders, from both an advocacy / facilitation and direct delivery perspective to ensure delivery of regeneration and development projects and initiatives. Planning Assistant
A number of permanent vacancies currently exist within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following post and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:- Planning Assistant (2 Posts) Hours of Work: 37 Hours per week Salary: Scale SO1 and in the range SCP 25-27, currently £36,363 to £38,220 per annum. Location: Ballymena MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB Provide professional and technical advice, guidance and recommendations and carry out all the functions associated with the delivery of the Council’s responsibilities and statutory functions in respect of Planning and Environment. Provide support to the Planning Officer (or equivalent) including the assembling and presentation of information to inform any of the following: The preparation and review of the Local Development Plan and associated planning guidance; Decision making on planning applications; Actions in regard to the enforcement of planning control; The carrying out of environmental and other assessments associated with Local Development Plans and the determination of planning applications and other development proposals; Undertaking Sustainability Appraisal (including Strategic Environmental Assessment) of Development Plans; Undertaking Habitat Regulations Assessment on planning related matters. The particular role assigned initially, and potentially subject to change thereafter, will be at the discretion of the Head of Planning in consideration of ongoing business needs and priorities. Traffic/Litter Warden
SECTION 1: THE ROLE Cork County Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which vacancies for Traffic/Litter Warden may be filled. Key responsibilities of the role include: Entry point to the scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. In accordance with Departmental Circular Letter EL 02/2011, persons who were not serving local authority employees on or after 1 January 2011 will enter the scale at the minimum point. Rates of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government policy. Where increment entitlement applies, increments are paid subject to satisfactory attendance, conduct and performance.
