Purpose of the Role Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008 Caseload e.g. Children - under 16 years of age. The establishment of the Neurology Nursing Department has had a direct effect on reducing the number and duration of hospital admissions, return outpatient attendances and improving quality of patient care. The CNS in Neurology has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activity and services within the clinical area.
