The appointed person will be assigned to work within all children’s services at UHK which including the Pediatric ward and the Paediatrics Assessment Unit (PAU). The Pediatric in-patient service has 29 beds/cots and provides care of children up to the age of 16 years. This is a mixed specialty unit which incorporates inpatient beds / cots, and some ambulatory service to include general medical conditions, oncology. Surgical services are provided for minor surgical day cases and acute surgical emergencies are under the care of the department of surgery. The appointed person will work closely with the Clinical Nurses Manager 1 and 2 and may be required to rotate across children’s services. University Hospital Kerry is the second largest of the Health Service Executive – South’s seven acute hospitals. With a catchment area of Kerry, North Cork & West Limerick, it services a population of approx. over 180,554.
