Social Care Workers Full-time and Part-time positions available in: Cork City Horizons is looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Social Care Workers on a full-time and part time basis to support people living in community residences to flourish and lead a life of their choosing. This recruitment opportunity will assist in enhancing the overall quality of life for people supported in Horizons. Salary: The 12-point salary scale for the post as of 01/08/2025: €40,351, €41,908, €43,826, €45,229, €46,647, €48,072, €49,520, €50,990, €52,473, €54,012, €55,599, €56,650 LSI New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies. Your role will assist in providing person centred opportunities for people living in their own home, along with support for activities of daily living, that can help to develop and maintain links with the wider community. A commitment to a person-centred, citizen based, social model of support is required. Focus on supporting the development of valued social roles is essential. Educational requirements: 1. A Diploma or BA (Ord) Degree in Social Care Practice (Level 7 or higher on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework) OR An equivalent social care qualification recognised by CORU’s Social Care Workers Registration Board. AND Hold professional registration or be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registrations Board at CORU. Where registration has not yet been received from CORU, applicants must demonstrate evidence of application. Contract of employment will only be issued on receipt of Coru Registration. Principal Medical Social Worker
(Permanent, Full time) Working as part of interdisciplinary teams, social workers in the National Rehabilitation Hospital support patients and families/carers in the process of adjusting to an altered future as a result of illness or trauma. The social work team addresses the social and emotional components in a patient’s situation that influence their progression towards achieving optimal independence and enhancing their quality of life. The service ranges from pre-admission through to inpatient, outpatient and outreach services. The services offered by the Social Work Department include psychosocial assessment of the patient and family situation, counselling and support to patients and families, carer training programmes, care planning; complex discharge planning, advocacy, assisted decision making services and safeguarding. The Principal Medical Social Worker is responsible for the management and governance of the Social Work Service. He/she will also have a key role in service development and staff training within the Social Work Department and the wider hospital. The Principal Social Worker will be expected to identify gaps in services and input into service planning within the hospital and in the wider health and social care network. Core tasks will include staff supervision, audit and review of the service, service design and strategic planning, acting at the Designated Officer for child and adult safeguarding, oversight of the NRH ADMA service, teaching and wider hospital managerial duties as assigned by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Dental Nurse - Part Time
We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Part-Time Dental Nurse to be part of our family run group of Practices and to join our team in Lurgan, on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity. The successful applicant will work 16 hours per week from 8:30-5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thurdays. Duties will include assisting the dentist, sterilising dental equipment, keeping the surgery clean and occasional reception duties. Promoting high standards of patient care at all times is vital.
