Jigsaw Clinician
POSITION SUMMARY: Jigsaw clinicians offer short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This usually involves 1:1 work with the young person and sometimes it can include other family members as well. Our clinicians come from diverse professional backgrounds encompassing qualifications in social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, clinical/counselling/educational psychology, and psychotherapy, and they work as part of transdisciplinary teams based at one of our 15 services across the country. All of our clinicians share the same scope of practice to support the goals of our young people in a collaborative, respectful, and evidence-informed manner while drawing on their own unique training, experience, and skills. Additionally, clinicians are involved in health promotion, youth engagement, service development, and advocacy. Our clinicians benefit from frequent and supportive clinical supervision alongside a comprehensive programme of continuing professional development. Please note: This is a full-time, specific purpose (12-month) position based in our Laois/Offaly service. This is a front facing role with daily interactions with Young People and members of the public. We provide day and residential services and individualised services to adults with high support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Role: The role of the CMN1/Social Care Leader is an important role in the management of the day to day organisation of an integrated service providing both day and residential service supports. Candidates must have a full clean driving licence. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. An appropriate management qualification is also desirable or a commitment to obtain one. Social Care Leader candidates must be registered with CORU or have their application submitted. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. Experience: Candidates must have at least 3 years post qualification experience gained in services for people with intellectual disabilities. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of leading and supporting a team. Experience of overseeing an integrated day programme in a residential setting is desirable. Experience in community networking, supporting individuals to partake in activities in their local community, goal setting and programme implementation is desirable. Experience of working with individuals with autism, challenging behaviour and mental health is an advantage. Skills: Candidates must demonstrate leadership and planning skills and the ability to set goals, put into action and follow through. Candidates must have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, be creative and self-motivated, communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy. Working Hours: 75/75 CNM1 or 78/78 Social Care Leader hours per fortnight based on a 14 day duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change over 7 days to meet the requirements of the service. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings and weekends, public holidays, and occasional night duty. Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
