Love good food, meeting people, and learning something new? We're looking for seasonal team members to join Sheridans Cheesemongers over the busy Christmas period. From serving customers and preparing cheese to building festive hampers and keeping things running behind the scenes, you'll be part of the team that makes Christmas at Sheridans happen. No previous cheesemongering experience is needed. An interest in cheese and good food is preferred, but not essential. What's most important is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an enjoyment of working with customers and as part of a team. At Sheridans, we believe great food is about more than what's on the counter. It's about the people who make it, the stories behind it, and sharing that with our customers. What You'll Be Doing · Welcoming customers and providing friendly, helpful service in a busy retail environment. · Learning about and sharing knowledge of cheese, artisan foods, and the producers behind them. · Helping customers choose products, discover new flavours, and find the perfect pairings. · Preparing, caring for, and displaying cheese and other products to a high standard. · Supporting the team with deliveries, stock rotation, and keeping the shop well organised. · Preparing and presenting festive food hampers. · Keeping counters, fridges, and work areas clean and tidy. · Helping the team deliver a smooth and enjoyable customer experience throughout the busy Christmas period. What We're Looking For · A genuine interest in food, cheese, or artisan products is preferred, but not essential. · Friendly, confident communication and a willingness to engage with customers. · A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. · Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment. · Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work. · Flexibility and availability to work 4–5 days per week, including weekends, to support business needs. · Previous retail or food experience is helpful, but full training will be provided. Road Surface Technician Apprentice
Responsible to: Senior Contracts Manager For more than 30 years, Tarstone Road Maintenance has delivered specialist road maintenance solutions across Ireland, combining industry-leading expertise with independently certified products, innovative techniques, and rigorous quality standards. The new RST Apprenticeship is a two-year ‘earn and learn’ programme developed in collaboration with industry to meet the growing demand for skilled operatives in the road construction and motorway maintenance sector. The programme is coordinated by the Technological University of the Shannon, Athlone and leads to the award of Higher Certificate, Level 6 qualification. The programme is designed for individuals seeking to begin or develop a career in road surfacing and motorway maintenance, working as part of a team responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining road infrastructure. Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and practical experience required to lay and compact asphalt surfaces, apply surface dressing treatments, operate specialist plant and machinery, and ensure that work is completed to industry specifications and safety standards. RST Apprenticeship Entry Requirements Applicants must meet the entry requirements as follows: • Applicants must be employed by an approved employer participating in the programme, i.e. Tarstone Road Maintenance AND • Hold a minimum of 5 subjects (Grade O6 / H7 or higher) in the Leaving Certificate, or an equivalent qualification. OR • Applicants who do not meet the minimum academic entry requirements may be considered through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, in accordance with TUS’s approved RPL policies and procedures. RPL applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. OR • Transfers into Stage 1 of the programme will be considered from other approved engineering or construction-related programmes at a comparable level. Applicants seeking to transfer must meet the programme’s employment requirements, i.e. they must be employed by an approved employer participating in the programme.
