CLEANSE THE TONGUESounds a little unusual but scraping the tongue can remove bad bacteria and toxins. This can help with your digestive health and immunity system. If you can&#39;t get your hands on a specific Tongue Cleaner (yes there is such a thing, sold sometimes in Health Stores) just use a toothbrush and give your tongue a good rigorous scrub a couple of times a day.5. YOGA OR MEDITATIONYoga and meditation is great for cleansing your mind as well as your body! You can do this easily at home, just google a good mediation soundtrack or check youtube. Find a quiet place, where you will not be disturbed and relax - take deep breaths in and out, focusing on the sound of your breathing in and out.6. HOT TOWEL SCRUBTo improve your lymphatic system and increase circulation there&#39;s nothing like a good hot towel scrub or a body brush. Do it before or after you bath or shower. Focus on one part of your body at a time scrubbing in circular motions.7. GO GLUTEN, DIARY, SUGAR, ALCOHOL AND CAFFEINE FREE FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARYThis might sound a bit extreme, but these foods are inflammatory and load up the liver, resulting in a toxic build up and if you give them up for a month you will feel brand new in just a few weeks. In the past, you had no legal right to be paid while you were on sick leave from work.From 1 January 2023, you have a right to 3 days’ sick pay a year. This is called statutory sick pay (that means the legal minimum). Sick pay is paid by your employer at 70% of your normal pay up to a maximum of €110 a day.You must be an employee and be working at least 13 weeks with your employer before you can get statutory sick pay.Your employer can have a more generous sick pay scheme, but they can&#39;t give you less than the statutory amount. If you are getting One-Parent Family Payment you are allowed to earn a certain amount each week and keep your payment. Additional Needs Payment to Help with Added Expenses even if Working

Right to request remote work for all workers to be introduced through the DCEDIY Work Life Balance BillA new law aimed at giving employees the right to request remote work is to be included in The Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2022 which is expected to be signed into law by the end of the year.Under the bill, the grounds for refusal will be replaced by an obligation on the employer to consider both their needs and the needs of employees when assessing a request. Employers will also be required to have regard to the new code of practice and a complaint can be taken to the Workplace Relations Commission where an employer hasn&#39;t complied with the code.The Bill will transpose the EU Work Life Balance Directive (Directive) into Irish law and provide additional statutory entitlements to parents and carers also in support of a better work life balance, such as;•	The introduction of five days unpaid leave per year to provide care or support to certain categories of people.•	A right for parents and carers to request flexible working arrangements for caring purposes.•	The extension of the current entitlement to breastfeeding breaks under the Maternity Protection Acts from six months to two years.<a href="https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/bills/bill/2022/92/"></a><h2><a href="https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/bills/bill/2022/92/"></a></h2><h2>In a recent announcement the Government said the legislative right to request remote working would be fast-tracked</h2>Agreement between the Tánaiste and Minister O’Gorman also provides greater certainty for workers and employers, with plans to further extend flexible work to all workers following a review of the legislation in two years.The Government approved the integration of the Right to Request Remote Work for all workers into the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill which is expected to be delivered by the end of the year. The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD, and the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD, together agreed that amending the Work Life Balance Bill is the most efficient and practical way to introduce the right to request remote work to all workers.Welcoming the Government decision the Tánaiste said:<blockquote>“The Right to Request Remote Work is an important item on my agenda to improve workers’ rights and modernise the world of work. “The benefits of remote working are obvious – less commuting, fewer transport emissions, better quality of life with more time with family and friends. New job opportunities will be created for people who want to live in rural Ireland, for people with disabilities and for people with caring responsibilities. Smaller towns and villages across Ireland will benefit from new investment, increased footfall and local spend.“I am pleased that the Government and my colleague Minister O’Gorman has agreed to include this important new legal right for all workers in the Work Life Balance Bill which is already well advanced in the Oireachtas. Our collaboration on this legislation shows the commitment across Government to develop fairer, safer and more attractive workplaces.” </blockquote>Integrating the Right to Request Remote Work for all workers into the Work Life Balance Bill means that employers and employees will now be making and considering requests for flexible or remote working under one piece of legislation and one Code of Practice to be developed by the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC). This will streamline the process and will help avoid inconsistencies and confusion. Under the new legislation employees will have a legal right to request remote working from their employer. In addition, employers will now be required to have regard to the Code of Practice when considering requests. The Code of Practice will be established on a statutory footing and, it is expected that this Code will include guidance to employers and employees on their obligations regarding compliance. Minister O’Gorman said<blockquote>“The Tánaiste and I have reflected on the recommendations of the Pre-Legislative Scrutiny Reports of both Bills, and input from stakeholders, including observations made in this House, and it is clear that integrating the relevant legislative provisions of the Right to Request Remote Working Bill into the Work Life Balance Bill represents a practical way forward. “I am conscious that many employers who went to great lengths to accommodate flexible working during the pandemic are now working out the extent to which it can be part of their businesses in the longer term. However, we will keep this legislation under review. <h2>According to a survey of chief financial officers, retaining and attracting the right talent is one of the biggest risks facing businesses in the year ahead.</h2>The research was carried out by Deloitte among 1,151 CFOs based in 15 countries across Europe, including Ireland.The findings differ from the previous survey carried out earlier this year, in which the economic outlook and geopolitical risks ranked as the top two risks.In order to attract and retain talent, 85% of the CFOs surveyed said they are rolling out flexible working patterns.Meanwhile, 69% said they are reviewing their total reward offering, 68% are investing in wellbeing and assistance programmes, and 59% are investing in sustainability initiatives - such as measures to reduce their carbon footprint. Here are 14 areas where deliberate action can help boost employees’ job satisfaction and increase your ability to hold onto valued workers:<h4> 1. Onboarding and orientation</h4>Every new hire should be set up for success from the start. Your onboarding process should teach new employees not only about the job but also about the company culture and how they can contribute to and thrive in it. Don’t skimp on this critical first step. YESS placements are for 3 months at first, and there is an option to extend this for a further 3 months. This helps young people to gain valuable work experience. 4. Community Employment (CE)Community Employment is designed to help long-term jobseekers get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs in local communities. To qualify for Community Employment:• you must have been getting qualifying social welfare payments for 12 months or more. To apply: • you must be aged between 18 and 24,• be unemployed for at least 12 months or face significant barriers to employment, and• you must also be in receipt of one of a number of qualifying social welfare payments. YESS placements are for 3 months at first, and there is an option to extend this for a further 3 months. This helps young people to gain valuable work experience.

4. Community Employment (CE)Community Employment is designed to help long-term jobseekers get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs in local communities. To qualify for Community Employment:• you must have been getting qualifying social welfare payments for 12 months or more. TúsTús is a community work placement. It provides short-term working opportunities for unemployed people. The work is designed to help the community, and it is with community and voluntary organisations. 6. JobsPlusJobsPlus is a payment to encourage employers to employ jobseekers who have been unemployed for 12 months or more and who satisfy certain conditions. 7. Short-Term Enterprise Allowance (STEA)The Short-Term Enterprise Allowance helps you to start your own business if you are getting Jobseeker’s Benefit. 3. Back to Work Family Dividend (BTWFD)This scheme provides financial support to people with children receiving a jobseeker’s payment or One-Parent Family Payment (OFP) and who end their claim to take up employment or self- employment. 4. Part-time Job Incentive Scheme (PTJI)This scheme allows long-term jobseekers who take up part- time work - less than 24 hours a week- and get a special weekly allowance instead of their jobseeker’s payment. You can stay on the scheme for one year, then it may be extended. You must continue to look for full-time work. It is intended to be a stepping stone to get full-time work.
