Trainee Shift Manager
Position Description The Trainee Manager Programme is the first step to managing one of our £multi-million Irish restaurants. From day one, you’ll be based on the shop floor learning how each area of the business works. One minute you’ll be serving customers, the next you’ll be learning about stock control. You’ll work alongside our crew, crew trainers, customer care teams and assistant managers whilst you complete an intensive initial training period. It takes up to six months to complete the initial stages of the Trainee Manager programme, and after successfully passing your probationary period and completing the training period and relevant courses, you’ll be promoted to a shift running manager and become part of the core restaurant management team. The next steps could involve promotion to 2nd Assistant, 1st Assistant, Business Manager and beyond. Position Requirements Previous management experience will be required. We'll give you the training, knowledge, skills and confidence. Apply determination, hard work and ambition, and you’ll complete the training period and be ready for promotion to shift running manager You’ll be required to learn a lot and apply what you have learnt, and to always lead by example. You’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with each area of the restaurant and be a really quick learner, as there’s a lot to learn up in a short space of time. A logical mind and great people skills are really important too. Additional Information Pay rates listed here are pay rates that will be achieved once you have completed all training and courses and passed the verification process. Starting pay rates are 10.45 basic rate, 10.95 evening/Sunday rate
Main purpose of the role: Support the management team in all aspects of the operation of the store while gaining detailed experience in individual departments throughout the store. The ideal candidate will have/be: - 1 years` experience in the retail industry is desirable • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) • Experience balancing cash/tills is desirable • Experience with fresh food • Excellent communication skills • Good delegation skills • Highly driven with a strong work ethic • Commerciality and brand awareness • Passion for grocery retail • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment. Main Duties: • Actively live Centra brand-values i.e. Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community-Based • Set, monitor and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs as agreed with Store Manager • Actively participate in all training and development initiatives, and performance assessments • Merchandise and present the entire store to the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines • Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store • Gain competence with all aspects of supply procedures - ordering, delivery procedures, stock rotation and control procedures • Manage such departments as are assigned to you • Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working.
